Many years have passed since every Greek family was responsible for its own oil production, with an olive mill (called "liotrivi"). Today, modern machines allow the creation of large and leading-edge facilities that support the production of extra virgin olive oil. In the Anagnostopoulou family, we have invested in exactly that. We experiment with new methods and choose the best one. By following the developments and constantly incorporating new machines in our olive mills, we are always confident that the product we deliver is the best.
Our two olive mills operate with cold extraction and are located in Manesi and Trikorfo, Messinia. There is also a production unit in Manesi. Our facilities have been designed with years of expertise and we have used those materials that allow all aromas to remain unaffected until bottling. With the assistance of our modern olive mills and the input of people who share with us the same knowledge and values, we manage to produce high-quality olive oil.
In 1986, our great grandfather, Papa-Apostolis, the village clergyman, created the first olive press in mountainous Messinia, using sticks and stones. Having grown up amongst the olive groves, he adored the aroma and the intense taste of quality olive oil. A family story of olive oil begins right there. Our family, the genus Anagnostopoulou, still has the same passion for authentic Greek extra virgin olive oil. We continue to produce a product that comes from the fertile Messinian soil and encloses the mentality of the people who reside there.
Manesi, emerges amphitheatrically within luscious trees and olive trees, in a picturesque setup some 27km from Kalamata. Its rich vegetation has been blessing its locals with the bountiful Koroneiki variety for many years.

The benefits of olive oil from Manesi
Manesi features a unique tradition despite historical circumstances, the production of extra virgin olive oil. The hills on which Manesi is located have a slightly different climate per region. The climate and terrain shapes the fruitful taste and health benefits of olive oil resulting in an aftertaste of greens, olive leaves, freshly cut grass, tomato leaves, ripe banana, and green almond. Taste the olive oil with its aromas of walnut and nuts, and with an intense red and black pepper aftertaste.
The benefits of olive oil from Trikorfo
The Feast of the Edible Olive is organized every year in Trikorfo. Every August, producers from all over Greece meet and participate in a festival for quality olives. The charming Messinian village also produces figs and some of the highest quality olive oil in Greece. The aromas that emerge from the extra virgin olive oil of Trikorfo are reminiscent of herbs such as oregano, thyme, and cauliflower, but also artichokes, chopped greens, and tomato leaves. A strong aftertaste of olive oil is highlighted when combined with red, black, and white peppers.
Trikorfo is the village where 40% of the edible olives of the Messinia region is cultivated. Its previous name, Pentias, is mentioned by the Venetians in 1690 and comes from the name of the first families who settled in the village, according to the local tradition. It is located 25 km from Kalamata and 8 km from Manesi. Both Trikorfo and Manesi are situated opposite Taygetos mountain.

Olive Oil Production
Our extra virgin olive oilis produced by members of the Anagnostopoulos family, as wellas farmers who share our love for the products and the land that bears it, Manesi and Trikorfo in Messinia. We begin with harvesting by hand, the most reliable technique. This ensures the production of superior quality from the very first step.
